Wanted criminal gunned down

Lucknow, Oct 3 (UNI) A wanted criminal carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head was gunned down by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police in Gorakhpur district today.

Police said the encounter took place in Khorabar area of the eastern UP district this morning.

The slain criminal was identified as Brijesh Yadav, who had several cases of heinous crimes including murder, loot and kidnapping registered against him.

An illegal firearm and cartridges were seized from the spot.
