Vasundhara to be honoured with Ojaswini award
Bhopal, Oct 3 (UNI) Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje, noted cardiac surgeon Savitri Shrivastava, Bharatnatyam dancer Niketa Ghia and budding music talent Palak Muchhal will be honoured at the ''Ojaswini Alankaran-2006''.
Ms Raje would be honoured with 'Ojaswini Shikhar Alankaran'' for empowering women. Among others, the unique decision providing three per cent stamp duty reduction for registering land in the name of woman had benefitted many, Ojaswini Samdarshi Trust chairperson Dr Sudha Malaiyya told reporters here today.
BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Orissa Cooperative Minister Ms Surma Padi will be the chief guests at the award distribution function at Bittan Market here on October 11. The award has cash component of Rs 11,000 each, she added.
Dr Malaiyya said Dr Savitri Shrivastava, a Director of Escorts hospital, would be honoured with ''Ojaswini Udyamita Alankaran'' for her devotion to cardiac surgery of children.
Ms Niketa Ghia of Ahmedabad, who is surviving on a kidney donated by her mother after her both kidneys failed at a very young age, has been raising funds for kidney patients through her Bharatnatyam programmes. A disciple of noted danceuse Mrinalini Sarabhai, Ms Ghia would be awarded with ''Ojaswini Shikhar Alankaran''.
Indore's budding singer Palak Muchhal would be honoured with ''Yuva Ojaswini Alankaran'' for raising funds for cancer patients through musical programmes.
Dr Malaiyya said a ten-day trade and cultural fair will be organised from October four to 13 at Bittan Market here as part of Ojaswini Mahotsava.
