Theft in police station

Sehore, MP, Oct 3 (UNI) Exposing alertness of police personnel, television, wireless and other materials were stolen from Mandi police station in this district while five policemen were asleep.

In fact, during sudden inspection of the police station yesterday, Sub-Divisional Officer of Police O P Vinay Pal caught policemen napping and took away the materials.

Later, a theft case was registered against unidentified persons in this connection.

Meanwhile, Mr Pal received directives from Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad to inquire into the matter and informed the latter he had taken away the materials in order to test the alertness of the policemen.

However, he did not expect that a case would be registered.

A departmental inquiry will be ordered against careless police officials.
