SL rebels agree to Oslo talks Oct 28-30: Source
Colombo, Oct 3: Sri Lanka's Tamil Tiger rebels told Norway's special peace envoy they are prepared to meet the government for crunch peace talks in Oslo in late October, a source close to the negotiations told Reuters.
''The Tigers have agreed to go to Oslo for talks on October 28-30,'' the source said on condition of anonymity after envoy Jon Hanssen-Bauer met the Tigers' political wing leadership in the northern rebel stronghold of Kilinochchi.
The Sri Lankan government has told peace mediator Norway it is would be prepared to hold talks either on Oct 30 or on Nov 10 due to parliamentary committments. There was no immediate government reply to the dates agreed by the Tigers.
