Sensex trades 53 pts down in noon trade
Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) was down 53 points in the intra noon trade after profit booking emerged in the index pivotals later in the day.
Currently, sensex was trading at 12,401 compared to the previous close of 12, 454.42 points.
Meanwhile crude oil has extended its downward slide by 3 per cent, it is currently pegged at US Dollar 60.97, and is way below the high of US Dollar 78.40 per barrel mark reached in August.
Major sectoral indices on the BSE have gone down in the red.
Health care and IT are down by 0.62 per cent, Bankex is down by 0.25 per cent and Capital Goods is down by 0.52 per cent.
Major gainers on the BSE-30 index are -Bajaj Auto, Reliance Energy, Relinace Communications, Hindalco, ITC, Tata Motors, Gujarat Ambuja ICICI, Satyam Computers and NTPC all up between 0.23 to 1.54 per cent.
Besides the losers are HDFC, Ranbaxy, Cipla, L&T, HLL, Wipro, Infosys, ONGC, HDFC Bank, and TCS all down between 0.74 to 3.02 per cent.
