Sensex opens 19 pts up at 12,473
Mumbai Oct 3 (UNI) Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) today opened 19 points up at 12,473 as global markets steadied and since then it was range bound, touching a high of 12,487.49 and low of 1,422.16.
Currently, the Sensex is up by 27 points and is trading at 12,481.36.
Amongst the sectoral indices, Auto is up by 1.09 per cent, Metals by 1.48 per cent and Consumer Durables by 0.94 per cent. There were few negative performers too. Health Care index was down by 0.15 per cent and IT was down by 0.16 per cent.
Major gainers on the BSE-30 index were Reliance Communications, Bajaj Auto, Hindlaco, Tata Steel, Reliance Energy and ITC, all up between 1.09 to 1.80 per cent.
Among the losers were HDFC, Ranbaxy, Cipla, HLL, Infosys, Dr Reddy's Lab, Wipro, BHEL and ONGC, all down between 0.02 to 1.65 per cent.
