Russia calls Pyongyang to show restraint on nuclear test

MOSCOW, Oct 3 (Reuters) Russia today urged North Korea, which announced plans to conduct a nuclear test in the future, to exercise restraint and it called for six-party talks to be resumed.

''We treat with respect ... North Korean concerns about ensuring its own security, but believe that the solution of the problem should be in the framework of the six-party talks,'' a Foreign ministry statement said.

''Russia urges Pyongyang to exercise restraint and expresses the hope that North Korea can make a correct choice,'' it added.
