Prosecution sought time to file reply
Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Special Public Prosecutor Nitin Pradhan today sought time from the court to file reply on allegedly signing of blank cheques by accused Pravin Mahajan in the court premises and handing it over to his wife Sarangi on the last date of hearing last month.
Mr Pradhan, who appeared in court for the first time in this case after his appointment as Special Public Proseuctor told the court that today only he has received documents pertaining to signing on blank cheques by an accused, so he needs time to go through the papers for filing the reply.
Additional Session Judge S P Davare granted time and kept the matter for October six.
Judge Davare also adjourned the case date to October 17 for framing the charges against Pravin Mahajan.
Pravin has been accused of killing his elder brother and former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Pramod Mahajan on April 22, this year at the latter's residence in Worli.
Pravin is at present lodged in the high-security cell of Arthur Road Jail.
