Pranab parries questions on Singur

Kolkata, Oct 3 (UNI) Defence Minister and veteran Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee today parried questions on the party's stand on allotment of land for the Tata project at Singur.

He said the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee would decide on the stand on the proposed bandh on October 9 to protest land acquisition in Singur.

The state Congress would also decide whether to join the all party meeting called by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on land allocation at Singur for the project.

''The state committee has been empowered to take decision on the issue,'' he said.
