Power tariff to increase in Mumbai with effect from Oct 1

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Consumers of Reliance energy in Mumbai will have to pay 24 per cent more tariff from October 1 for a period of six months.

According to the MERC order, the hike will be applicable to consumers of Reliance Energy consuming more than 300 units per month.

The consumers will have to bear additional energy charge of 97 paise. MERC has introduced a new category of consumers below poverty line consuming less than 30 units per month and the tariff will be 40 paise per unit for them.
