One dies of dengue in Pune
Pune, Oct 3 (UNI) One person died of dengue here on Saturday while five others are undergoing treatment at the KEM Hospital, a doctor at the hospital said today.
Dr Rajesh Gadia told UNI, ''This was routine. Dengue cases do come up mostly in this month as mosquitoes, the carrier of the disease, breed in stagnant water bodies. Usually, one or two patients come during the day. This is a small outbreak and there is nothing to be alarmed about. This situation continues till the end of October.'' Meanwhile, the district health authorities denied reports that there was any outbreak of dengue.
Yashwant Dhoiphode, Deputy Director (Health Services), Maharashtra, said, ''We are not aware of the death and are waiting for a report from authorities in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).'' UNI DWN SSS YA HS1741
