''No compromise on sovereignty issue,'' NDFB

Serphanguri, Asom, Oct 03 (UNI) The National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) has reiterated that there would be '' no compromise on sovereignty issue '' and threatened to go to jungle again to achieve their goal.

Addressing the 20th raising day of the outfit at a designated camp here today, NDFB general secretary Govinda Basumatary alleged that the NDFB had received '' not so good response from the Government of India '' on the issue of sovereignty of the Bodos, and asked their cadres to be prepared to go to the jungle again if the Centre did not take early step to concede their demands.

NDFB spokesman S Sanjaram said, '' The Centre is humiliating freedom struggle of NDFB and Bodos by telling us to place charter of demands after twenty years of struggle. '' The Union government was ''insulting'' the Bodos by asking them to place the demands after 20-long years of struggle, the spokesman said.

The NDFB spokesman demanded to know the whereabouts of their several top leaders, who allegedly went missing during flushing out of the militants from Bhutan by the Indian Army.
