Dehra Dun, Oct 3 (UNI) After establishing its three-wheeler industrial unit in Haridwar and a tractor unit in Rudrapur, Mahindra and Mahindra will further set up its four-wheeler manufacturing unit at 250 acre land in Uttaranchal with an investment of Rs 1,500 crore.

While interacting with Uttaranchal Chief Minister N D Tiwari M&M-Chairman and Managing Director Keshav Mahindra said that setting up of the unit would open employment opportunity for about 2000 people.

He said that the suitable spot for the unit was being selected at Haridwar, Roorkee and Pantnagar. Haridwar based three-wheeler unit was producing 50,000 vehicles per year and Tractor Unit was producing one lakh tractors every year, Mr Mahindra said.

Expressing his content on Mr Mahindra's planning Mr Tiwari said the Industrial development rate in the state has grown from 1 per cent to 18.

Urging Mr Mahindra to follow the condition set by the state to provide 70 per cent job in all the industries set up in the state to local youths, Mr Tiwari assured him of all probable cooperation from State Government's side.
