LIC studying market to launch insurance scheme for children
Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) The Life Insurance Corporation of India Ltd (LIC) said today that it was studying the market before it launches the life insurance scheme for children.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of the announcement of the yearly month-long social security schemes programme to commemorate the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, the Chairman of LIC, T S Vijayan, said here today that ''We would like to bring insurance products for children under life segment as we feel that here lies a gap in our portfolio.'' But it all depends on the favourability of the market condition before we launch it, he added.
The state-run insurer, which is celebrating golden jubilee year of its foundation this year, has got its products for almost all the age-group of people except children. If it has Jeewan Suraksha scheme for pensioners, then Jeewan Bharati is there for women, He said.
