Italy air force says intercepted Turkish flight
ROME, Oct 3 (Reuters) The Italian air force today confirmed it had intercepted a Turkish Airlines flight from Tirana to Istanbul that was hijacked over Greece and had forced it to land in the southern Italian airport of Brindisi.
An air force official told Reuters that the plane was a Boeing 737 and was intercepted by an F-16 jet fighter.
