Heavy rains likely in western coastal states

Pune, Oct 3 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Andman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Madhya Maharashtra, at a few places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

They are also likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and south Gujarat.

Dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and north Gujrat.

The south-west monsoon has further withdrawn from entire west Uttar Pradesh, most parts of east Uttar Pradesh, some parts of Bihar, some parts of Madhya pradesh, entire Rajasthan, most parts of Gujrat Region, most parts of Saurashtra and Kutch and most parts of the Arbian Sea.

The south-west monsoon has been vigorous over Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka. It has subdued over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat Region, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalseema and south interior Karnataka.

In the regions from where the south-west monsoon has withdrawn day temperatures were appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan. The temperatures were above normal in Haryana, west Rajasthan and were normal in Punjab.

Night tempratures were appreciably above normal in Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of Haryana and Rajasthan. They were above normal in Uttaranchal, while normal in Punjab.

Heavy to heavy rains had occurred at most places in Andman and Nicobar Islands. Heavy rains had occurred at most places in coastal Karnataka, at many places in Konkan, Goa and at a few places in sub-Himalayan West bengal, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalya.

Very light rain had occurred at isolated places in Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many places in Jharkhand, at a few places in Gujarat Region, Madhya Maharashtra, Rayalseema, at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, interior Karnataka and Kerala.

Dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Saurashtra and Kutch.
