Govt has no objection to Pakistani rock band's visit: CM

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 3 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the State Assembly today that his government had not raised any objection to the Pakistani Rock band ''String'' performing in the state.

Responding to a submission by Mr M Prakasan Master (CPI-M), he said the state government had not received any intimation from the Union Home Ministry or the External Affairs Ministry on the visit of the rock band.

Raising the issue through the submission, Mr Prakasan Master said the Union Home Ministry had denied permission to the rock band to visit the state and stage a performance at the Government Engineering College here.

He urged the state government to intervene and get clearance for the performance.
