Govt asked to give list of persons having security cover
New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today asked the Union Government to file an affidavit mentioning the number of people availing security cover and government accommodation on account of threat to their lives.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Kailash Gambhir directed the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to file the status report by January 23, the next date of hearing.
Petitioner and advocate Rajiv Awasti in a PIL alleged that many persons had been availing security cover and government accommodation by giving false security threat alarms to their lives.
The government was spending crores of rupees from public money on many people who did not have any threat perception, said Mr Awasti appearing in person.
