Ganja worth over Rs 17 lakh seized

Kohima, Oct 03: Acting on a tip-off, police arrested two persons for possessing around 2195 kg of contraband ganja in a truck on Sunday.

According to official sources here today, three persons were proceeding to Kohima to Niuland under Dimapur district by truck to cross over to Asom.

When police intercepted the truck, the driver managed to escape under the cover of darkness, but other two occupants were arrested along with the contraband ganja, estimated at Rs 17 lakh.

Further investigation was on.
