Five killed in 3 separate road accidents in Saurashtra
Rajkot, Oct 3 (UNI) Five people were killed in three separate road accidents in the Saurashtra region yesterday, police said today.
Two pedestrians - Khodabhai Makwana (60) and his son Ratilal (28) - were crushed by a speeding truck near Chotila, about 50 km from here, on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway last night.
They were on their way to Chotila from Surendranagar on foot to seek blessings of the Goddess when the incident happened, police said.
In another incident, two persons riding on their scooter were knocked down by another vehicle near Kodinar, killing them on the sport.
The deceased were identified as Bhavsinh Mori (42) and Parbat Chinabhai (38). They were on their way to Kodinar from Una in Junagadh district when the incident occurred.
In another incident, a 30-year-old youth was crushed to death by a speeding private luxury bus near Bhadiyad village in Vadhwan taluka of Surendranagar district.
The youth, Ajmal Jivabhai, was shifted to Rajkot civil hospital with grievous injuries, where he later died, police added.
