First dengue case confirmed in J

Jammu, Oct 3 (UNI) Deputy Director of Jammu and Kashmir Health services Kailash Kohli today confirmed a dengue case at Surankote in Poonch district here.

''Laboratory report of one person has been tested positive,'' Dr Kohli told UNI.

The department had sent a team of experts to Kalad Katal area of Surankote. Samples of about 46 suspected cases were collected and sent to the laboratory. However, sample of Shamshad Begum, 30, tested positive, he said, adding the patient has been admitted to the hospital here.

However, sources said she was later discharged.
