Chhattisgarh to hear Shivraj case on Oct 23
Raipur, Oct 3 (UNI) A local court today fixed October 23 as the final date for hearing on a revision petition filed for reconsidering an order for issuance of arrest warrants while dismissing an application for dropping charges framed against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other senior leaders who participated in a political demonstration here five years ago.
The Chhattisgarh government submitted a plea for dropping charges against Mr Chouhan, Chhattisgarh Public Works Minister Rajesh Munat, Parliamentary Secretary Poonam Chandrakar, MP Nandkumar Sai and 62 others who gheraoed the then Chief Minister Ajit Jogi's residence.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Satyabhama Jaiswal rejected the application and issued warrants. The government submitted a revision petition before District and Sessions Judge R S Sharma who transferred the case to the court of Additional Sessions Judge N D Tigala.
On September 30, Mr Tigala inspected the lower court's records and fixed today as the next day for hearing.
