Centre approves Rs 25 cr for new police battalion

Aizawl, Oct 3: The Central government has approved Rs 25 crore to raise the new 3rd Indian Reserve (IR) Police Battalion in the state.

Disclosing this to the mediapersons, department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Minister Tawnluia said the Centre would release Rs 25 crore shortly for setting up a new 3rd IR battalion in Mizoram.

A Cabinet memorandum had already been prepared in this regard, the Minister said adding employment opportunity for recruiting about one thousand youths would be generated by raising new police force.
