CBSE national chess gets underway at Varanasi
Varanasi, Oct 3 (UNI) Around 500 players from 60 Indian and foreign schools are competing in the four-day CBSE National Chess Tourney 2006, which started here today.
The competing teams include Modern Senior Secondary School, Chennai and Jawahar Higher Secondary School, Neyveli -- defending champions in U-14 and U-19 segments respectively.
The tourney also features fledgling chess talent from Indian High School, Dubai.
The tourney was inaugurated by International Master and Former Commonwealth Chess champion Atanu Lahiri.
