Block office torched in Bihar

Sitamarhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Unidentified criminals torched the Bargania block office last night, reducing to ashes important documents and official records related to several welfare schemes, including Indira Awas Yojna (IAY).

District Magistrate Suman Kumar said here today that the matter was being thoroughly investigated to ascertain any role of the employee of the concerned office in this incident.

The Block Development Officer has been directed to seize all the official records to foil any attempt of tampering by the vested interests, he added.

A case was registered with Bargania police station in this connection, he informed.
