Bhatkal recorded 17 cm rain in the State

Bangalore, Oct 03 (UNI) Following is the summary of observations recorded in Bangalore weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka, however weak over South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka.

Bhatkal recorded very heavy rainfall of 17cm.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Honavar 11, Karwar 8, Ankola 7.

Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Gerusoppa, Kumta 6 each, Shirali 5, Udupi 4, Dharmasthala, Karkala, Kundapur, Hosanagar 3 each.

Maximum temperatures appreciably fell at most places over North Interior Karnataka, fell at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and changed little over South Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal at many places over Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka and were normal over South Interior Karnataka.

Minimum temperatures changed little and normal over the State.

Chamarajnagara recorded highest maximum temperature of 30.0 degree Celsius and also lowest minimum temperature of 18.0 degree celsius.

Heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Forecast valid until the Thursday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka, at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at many places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at isolated places over Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Koppal, Bagalkote, Bijapur, Bidar, Gulbarga, Raichur, Chikmagalur, Kodagu and Shimoga districts. Mainly dry weather may prevail over remaining districts of the State.

Forecast for Bangalore: Partly cloudy. Maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 30 degree Celsius and 19 degree Celsius respectively.
