Awards conferred on six sportspersons

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (UNI) Noted shuttler Chetan Anand and Athlete P Shankar were selected for the prestigious Alluri Seetharamaraju Award for 2005-06 and 2004-05 respectively, while Powerlifter B Tejaswini Naidu and Athlete S Geetha will get the Rani Rudramma Devi Award for 2005-06 and 2004-05 respectively.

A release from Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh(SAAP) here tonight said the four sportspersons would be presented a cash prize of Rs one lakh each during the closing ceremony of the Chief Ministers' Cup tomorrow to bring laurels to the State and the country.

Sports Authority of India Athletic Coach Ramesh and Gymnastic Coach S Indira would get the Krupacharya award, comprising Rs 50,000 each, the release added.
