ATS arrests one more person in 7/11 case

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) One of the three accused in the serial bomb blasts on 7/11 was arrested from Belgaum near the Karnataka border by the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) investigating the blast case.

ATS official sources confirmed here today that the accused Asif Khan Basir Khan Junaid was picked from Belgaum and brought to Mumbai this evening.

The accused will be produced in ther Metropolitan Court tomorrow for remand, the sources added.

With the arrest of Junaid, the total of arrested persons has gone to 16.

Police said that he is believed to be one of the planters in serial train blasts.

Among the 16 arrested persons, the investigating agency has already applied the stringent MCOCA (Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act) against five persons recently.

Around 173 persons died and more than 400 were injured in the serial blasts in seven trains.
