3 injured in cross firing for dera land

Moga, Oct 3 (UNI) At least three people, including an eight-year-old boy, were injured in a clash between the supporters of two claimants of the 17 acres of land belonging to a 'dera' at Kapura village near here in the district.

Police have rounded up about one dozen people following the cross-firing.

The injured, identified as eight-year-old Manpreet Singh, Jaspinder Singh and Sandeep Kumar, were admitetd to Moga civil hospital.

According to SP (Detective) Ajay Maluja, Mahant Jarnail Dass was in the possession of the dera, while his rival claimant Mahant Tarsem Dass claimed that he was the real hier of the dera property owned by the late Mahant Mohan Dass, the founder of the dera.

A heavy deployment of police force has been placed to meet any eventuality, the SP said, adding that the investigations were on.
