11 suspected dengue cases at PGI

Chandigarh, Oct 3 (UNI) Eleven suspected cases of dengue have been reported at the PGIMER, here till this afternoon, according to a press release issued by the Institute.

Out of these eleven cases, two have tested positive for dengue after sereological tests. Results in rest of the nine are awaited.

Out of the eleven patients, four are from Saharanpur district in UP, two each from Ludhiana, Pinjore and Chandigarh and one is from Panchkula. One patient is admitted in the Emergency Medical Ward, two in the Communicable Diseases Ward and rest are under observation in the Emergency.

According to the release, eight separate beds have been kept in Emergency OPD for the patients suffering from dengue. Two beds in Emergency Medical Ward and four beds in the Communicable Diseases Ward have been reserved for dengue cases.

Separate units of platelets rich plasma have been arranged by the department of Blood Transfusion.
