War-like stores recovered in Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 2 (UNI) Security forces have recovered war-like stores in north Kashmir's Kupwara district yesterday, a defence spokesman said today.
On a specific information, he said a joint column of the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched near Haphurda in Kupwara district yesterday.
After a long search of the area, the column hit upon a huge cache of arms and ammunition buried under the ground, the spokesman said.
One rocket grenade launcher, three rocket propelled grenades, three rocket propelled grenade boosters, two recoilless shells (Chinese make) of 20 kg each, two remote control devices, one trigger mechanism for Improvised Explosive Device, eight Under Barrel Grenade Launcher rounds, four hand grenades, 267 Pika ammunition, 18 AK ammunition, one silencer pistol were seized from the underground store.
The spokesman said with the recovery of such huge war-like stores, the nefarious activities of militants have again been thwarted by the Army.
