Two held over London stab death
LONDON, Oct 2 (Reuters) Police investigating the fatalstabbing of a London man late on Sunday have arrested two youths in connection with the death, the Metropolitan Police said today.
The victim, who has not been named, was stabbed in Evergreen Square, Hackney, east London, and died of his injuries after being rushed to Homerton hospital.
Police would not confirm media reports he was attacked after confronting a group of youths.
''Two male youths have been arrested in connection with the inquiry and are in custody,'' a police spokeswoman said.
The murder is the latest violent death to beset the eastern part of the city in recent months.
In August, Peter Woodhams, 22, was shot dead in nearby Canning Town.
The TV satellite engineer and father-of-one had been stabbed in the neck in January after confronting a gang throwing stones at his car.
