Thackeray postpones traditional Dussehra rally
Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Rains over the past two days has forced the Shiv Sena to push ahead its Dussehra rally which is traditionally addressed by Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray.
This is the second time in 41 years that the rally has been disrupted owing to unforseen circumstances.
Mr Thackeray postpond the Rally late this evening. While announcing the decision, Mr Thackeray, however, expressed his regrets saying lakhs of Shiv Sainiks from across the state had converged in Mumbai for the rally but will now be dejected because of its postponement.
The release, quoting Mr Thackeray, said the rally could have been held despite rains. But, there are a large number of women who also attend the rally and they would have been greatly inconvenienced. The Sena will declare a new date for holding the rally, the release said.
