South Indian pilgrim dies in Varanasi

Varanasi, Oct 2 (UNI) An aged pilgrim from South India died due to a heart attack, while going to the world famous Kashi Vishwanath temple here today.

Police said Gopal Krishnan (65) of Madurai (Tamil Nadu) suffered a heart attack in Bansphatak locality under Chowk police station area.

Later, police reached the spot and informed the guest house where Gopal Krishnan was staying since September 30 in Jangambari locality. The aged man was slated to leave for Madurai this evening.

The guest house was still to inform the deceased's kin about the incident, police added.
