New court building inaugurated at Porbandar

Porbandar, Oct 2 (UNI) Gujarat High Court acting Chief Justice Yad Ram Meena today inaugurated a court building near Parbandar, built at a cost of Rs 6 crores in the presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modia.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justince Meena admitted that the benefits of laws was not reaching the common man due to their bad implementation by the state governments and the judicial system.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi, too, admitted to the existence of a ''mafia'' which had the support of political parties. He assured to end this ''mafia raj''.

Mr Modi claimed Gujarat has been in the forefront in clearing the backlog of cases.

Law Minister Ashok Bhatt, who was also present on the occasion, informed that the State Government has established a law university.

The new court building is expected to greatly benefit the people as earlier they had to approach the district court at Junagadh which is 110 kilometres from here.
