Nation pays tributes to Lal Bahadur Shastri

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) The nation today paid tributes to former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 102nd birth anniversary.

Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Opposition leader L K Advani were among those who offered floral tributes at the portrait of the leader in the Central Hall of Parliament.

Vijay Ghat, the samadhi of the late leader, received a stream of visitors from this morning. People from all walks of life paid tributes at the samadhi.

The family members of Lal Bahadur Shastri paid their respects at the samadhi and offered floral tributes at the portrait of Shastri in the Central Hall.
