Minor tremors jolt Madhya Pradesh

Barwani, Oct 2 (UNI) Two minor earthquakes jolted the Silavad area in western Madhya Pradesh this morning, but there were no injuries or lossof property, officials said.

Barwani District Collector Arun Tiwari said the first tremor measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale was experienced at 0803 hrs while the other had a magnitude of 1.7.

The tremors shook the walls of houses in Panchkula Dakshin and Hirkray villages, forcing people to come out, officials said.

Barwani lies in the vulnerable Seismic Zone III.
