Madhav Sawant passes away

Pune, Oct 2 (UNI) Freedom fighter and former kabaddi player Madhav Ragoba Sawant passed away of old age here today.

He was 92 and survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

He was cremated at the Vaikunth Crematorium this morning. A large number of politicians and sportspersons attended the funeral.

Those who attended the funeral were Mayor Rajani Tribhuvan, MLA Ramesh Bagwe, city Congress Committee president Adv Abhay Chhajed, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMT) chairman Sudhir Kale and Dr Satish Desai.
