Leh facing shortage of doctors
Srinagar, Oct 2 (UNI) Leh in Ladakh region of the Jammu and Kashmir is facing shortage of doctors as no doctor is ready to work on contractual basis.
The Chief Medical Officer, Leh, Dr Dolma Tsering said that there are 45 posts of Doctors vacant in the district as contractual doctors at a stipend of Rs 8000 are not ready to work in Leh.
The local Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Nobra Pintoo suggested that retired doctors of Leh should be pursued to work at Rs 8000 per month as stipend to meet the shortage of doctors/ Meanwhile, a new building for Sub-District Hospital Khaltsi has come up at Rs 2 crore which would be commissioned this year.
