Karnataka govt to develop Srirangapattana town
Mysore, Oct 2: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has announced that the state government has decided to take up the overall development of Srirangapattana town.
Talking after presenting the Karnataka Sangeetha Vidwan Award to the well-known Hindustani musician Manika Rao Raichurkar, Chief Minister said here yesterday, Srirangapattana had an history of holding Dasara festivities earlier which had now been shifted to Mysore city. The government would develop this town as a heritage spot and take up further research work, he added.
Mr Kumaraswamy also said the government had been observing the tradition of honouring well-known musicians of the state every year.
He also honoured State Bank of Mysore Managing Director P P Patnaik, State of India Deputy Managing Director Sridhar and TVS Senior Vice-President Muthuraj, the three leading sponsors of the Dasara festivities.
