Jawan commits suicide

Jammu, Oct 2 (UNI) An Army jawan of 17 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with a service weapon in Doda district.

Police sources said Naik Manapani of 17 RR entered the room of his colleague, Manoj Kumar, and took the latter's service rifle. He shot himself while Kumar was present in the room.

Kumar raised the alarm and senior officers reached to the spot.

Manapani was rushed to hospital but was declared brought dead.
