Heavy rains likely at Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka

Pune, Oct 2 (UNI) Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Konkan and Goa.

It has been subdued over Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in west Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and east Rajasthan and were above normal in Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan.

Night temperatures were below normal in Punjab. They were above normal in west Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of Haryana, east Rajasthan and were normal over Uttaranchal Panjab, Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Andman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Telangana and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Bihar, Marathwada, coatal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, north interior Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, west Madhay Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and east Madhya Pradesh.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Konkan and Goa.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in coastal Karnatak.

Very light rain have occurred at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Vidarbha, Telangana and south interior Karnataka.
