Four killed, 12 injured in UP road mishap

J P Nagar, UP, Oct 2 (UNI) At least four persons were killed and 12 others injured in a head-on collision between a mini truck and a bus on the Delhi-Lucknow National Highway.

The accident took place in Amroha area of the district yesterday when the speeding bus lost control and slammed against the mini truck loaded with people returning from a weekly market.

While two people on board the truck died on the spot, two others succumed to injuries on way to hospital.

The condition of two of those admitted to the hospital is stated to be critical.

Agitated residents of the area torched the bus and created ruckus at the hospital.

Senior police officials later brought the situation under control. Security has been increased at the hospital as a precaution.
