Four killed, 1 injured in hit-and-run case

Godhra, Oct 2 (UNI) Four people, riding on two motorbikes, were killed and one seriously injured when a speeding truck hit them at Dalwada village, 15 km from here, in Shehra taluka today.

Police said Raval Chattrasinh Mohanbhai, along with his son and another person, was riding on his bike when the speeding truck hit them, killing his son and the other person on the spot. Raval was admitted to the civil hospital here in a serious condition, where he died.

At that time, a couple - Suresh Chandra Takkadkar and his wife Suvarnaben -- were en route to Ambaji on a mobike when the same truck collided with his bike, injuring them seriously. They were admitted to the civil hospital here, where Suvarnaben died, while Suresh has been shifted to Sayajirao Hospital in Vadodara.

A case has been registered against the absconding truck driver, police added.
