Engine gutted in fire

Vizianagaram, Oct 2 (UNI) A fire broke out one of the three engine of a goods train carrying iron ore at the S Kota Railway Station here today.

S Kota Chief Divisional Railway Transport Inspector I Ramana Rao told UNI that the goods train run by three engines was proceeding from Kirandol to Visakhapatnam when the mishap occurred.

There was no body in the particular engine, when the fire broke out, he said.

Fire tenders were pressed into service and it took nearly 45 minutes to douse the blaze.

The damaged engine was later shifted to Vizag Electrical Loco Shed, he added.
