Demon of terrorism must be wiped out: Modi

Ahmedabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said ''the demon called terrorism should be burnt from our midst''.

Speaking after performing 'ayudha puja' at his residence here, Mr Modi said, ''on our ancient soil of Hindustan Lord Ram had killed a terrorist like Ravan thousands of years ago and the people of this nation have been burning Ravan's effigies since then on the day of Dussehra.'' The people are always mentally prepared to fight the scourge of terrorism, a release quoting Mr Modi said.

Mr Modi criticised the UPA government saying it was adopting a ''soft'' approach to terrorists instead of resolutely wiping out the scourge.
