Dasara celebrated across AP

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Dasara, the festival extolling the virtues of Goddesses Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati, was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional enthusiasm across Andhra Pradesh today.

Enthusiastic devotees performed special poojas in tastefully decorated pandals in every habitat, as also in their individual houses for success in all walks of life.

Workers overhauled machines and performed 'Ayudha Pooja' on the occasion.

Tiny-tots were initiated into the world of letters on this day, also known as 'Vijayadasami'.

Reports of celebrations came in from different parts of the State, including Srisailam, the abode of goddess Bramrambha and Basara, the abode of Saraswati, the goddess of learning.
