Children's Peace Monument inaugurated

Puducherry, Oct 2 (UNI) Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today dedicated the Children's Peace Monument and Children's Meditation Theme Park in the Botanical Gardens here set up by the International Children's Peace Council Trust (ICPC), in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Government of Puducherry.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rangasamy asserted that teachers should stress the importance of peace to students and advocate that they could achieve it through meditation.

Participating in the function, Puducherry Education Minister M O H F Shajahan said the Education Department had included yoga and meditation in the school syllabus.

Agriculture Minister V Vaithilingam, who spoke on the occasion, said nowadays there was competetion in the lives of school children, which led to depression among them. They should be taught that only success was not life, but satisfaction too was life.
