Cave of megalithic period found
Kozhikode, Oct 2 (UNI) Labourers working at a stone-quarry stumbled upon a cave and found several articles that date back to the Megalithic era.
The cave was unearthed by the labourers while digging at Kuruvettur in the district. Earthen pots, stone coats and iron jewellery that were recovered have been shifted to Pazharaj Museum.
Museum in charge Jayasree said preliminary investigation indicated the cave was used as a graveyard between 5th Century BC and 5th Century AD.
The Archeological Department had been informed of the findings and would conduct a detailed study of the area, she added.
