Blast in Puja Pandal, 1 killed

Guwahati, Oct 2 (UNI) The ULFA triggered a blast at a Durga Puja mandap early today killing one person and injuring 20.

According to preliminary reports, the bomb exploded off around 0030 hours at Dhemaji, about 550 km north east of here.

The injured were shifted to Dhemaji civil hospital.

This is the third bomb explosion by the banned organisation in the last four days, each time targeting a crowded place.

Incidentally, intelligence reports had suggested that the United Liberation Front of Asom might intensify attacks after the Durga Puja.
